This is a small-scale, drop-off Bilingual Summer Program. Throughout the week, children will have the opportunity to:
Immerse in our local natural environment on daily nature exploration & discovery hikes
Learn about biodiversity, local wildlife & endangered species, conservation, sustainability and other subjects that foster a positive environmental attitude and a deep connection with nature
Learn and use Spanish throughout the day
Experience wildlife encounters
Play water games
Have tory time under willow and oak trees
Dissect owl pellets and learn wildlife tracking skills
Practice yoga and guided mindfulness
Gain self confidence, independence, and learn life skills
Make unique nature-inspired art
Embrace discovery, curiosity and sense of wonder
Learn to be more empathetic and caring with those around them and with their environment
And so much more!
All while forming a bond with nature, and become naturalist without even noticing it!
There is a 7:1 ratio guided by a biologist, educator, and trained naturalist. Locations and themes vary.

Summer Sessions 2025
9am - 3pm
Sessions are 4 days-long, Mon-Thur. Sessions 1-3 are in Escondido, while Sessions 4-6 are in Coastal regions. Please note that rates vary for partial weeks, and priority will be given to those signing up for full weeks.
There is a one-time Summer Registration Fee of $25 first child, $15 siblings (non-refundable). Reg fee is waived if registering for all 6 full sessions.

SESSIONS 4-6 (Coastal)
It’s hot! ¡Que calor!
We’ll be exploring the coastal regions & beaches! A week full of new experiences, discovery hikes, wildlife encounters, perfect weather, and lots of Nature-Play!
During Coastal Sessions, we will meet at different locations each day (Ex: Mon-Encinitas, Tue&Thur-San Elijo, Wed-Del Mar). For exact location each day, please contact us!

Inland and Coastal Sessions
All Sessions are four days-long.
(Minimum of 7 kids to run a session)
Drop-off: 9-9:15am
Pick-up: 2:45-3pm
Price for Inland Sessions 1-3 in Escondido
(June 23-26, June 30-July 3, July 7-10)
Fees are per week:
4-day Monday-Thursday $290
3-day Any 3 available days $230
2-day Any 2 available days $160

Price for Coastal Sessions 4-6 in Encinitas, San Elijo, Del Mar
(Aug 4-7, Aug 11-14, Aug 18-21)

There’s a one-time $25 Registration Fee (non-refundable). Fee waived if child attends all 6 Full Week Sessions.
Refund Policy
Payment is due one month before each Session begins. There are NO refunds, credits, or make-up days available for days missed for any reason. In the rare event that we cancel a Sessions due to weather, credit will be applied to another Session or partial funds will be refunded.
Capacity & Waitlist
Because Summering in Nature is a small-scale Program ran by biologists and independent educators, capacity is very limited. A waitlist is available, but the child must be pre-registered, so that in the event of a cancellation, your child can start immediately. Session fees will be prorated to the days the child attends.
Last day to register is the Friday prior to the beginning of a Session, but we recommend signing up early as space is limited.
